There is a unique opportunity
to buy power wheelchairs at a fraction of their original cost
(10 to 15% on some models). Although
used, these electronic wheelchairs
(of German and Dutch make) are in excellent
condition; many look new.
They are in Belgium and now also in San
Diego, California. They are sold individually,
or in quantities at discount prices.

The governments of Belgium, Netherlands,
and Sweden buy them new for their citizens who need one. The equipment
remains property of the Government, and the stock is renewed every four
years: the equipment we offer comes directly from this stock.

Less sophisticated than model above. Single height, and tilting is
limited in range and done manually.

Ligtvoet LMD - Nicest of all, this power wheelchair of elegant
design has 7 speeds, it is very easy to ride on all types of terrain or
situations. It has excellent stability on high speed turns. Tilts back
in sitting position (without stretching back or legs; the user remains
in sitting position), also, independently the back reclines partially
at will, either manually or electrically. Lights on front and rear, high
and low, with directionals, etc., just like on a car. The widest part
of this wheelchair, at its rear wheels, is 26.5". Weighs 70 kg without batteries
(sold apart).

General Specifications
1. All chairs are in good functional condition:
they all run.
2. Lights and all other functions and accessories
designed for them, work on most of them. Note: when something does work
as designed, we will explain in detail before your purchase.
3. All the wheelchairs come from our supplier
in Belgium; some are Dutch, others German.
4. None of the chairs is too much used or
warned up; guarantied. We are here to help the needy, not to distress
him or her. Trust us for that.
5. All chairs are electronically controlled
by joystick and push buttons. Meyra models use a turning knob for speed
control.
6. Price does not include new batteries (2).
New batteries are available at wholesale price (to our customers only,
and when purchased with the chair).
8. To save weight, we will not include the
original (dead) batteries with the shipment, unless the contrary is specified.
9. The original battery charger is included,
unless you don’t want it (to save for the extra weight). They are
rated at 220 VAC/24 VDC 50Hz.
10. A Charger rated at 110 VAC/24 VDC 60Hz
is available on request. We would purchase it for you from our local Sears
store, and send it along with the wheelchair.
General
information on the Meyras we have on stock:
All the Meyras we have in
stock...
- are Front Drive, have hand-controlled joysticks
- speed (regulable) ranges from 3 to about 6 or
7 miles an hour
- have manual and also electric brakes
- have pneumatic tires (all 4)
- large wheels (at front) are 20" in diam
- small (rear) wheels are 10" in diam.
- have shock absorbers (which make riding really
smooth, even on rough rods)
- widest dimension can vary from 27" to 29"
- seat height (from the floor) is generally 22"
(exceptionally 23")
- have removable leg rests, arms, and back. With
all the 3 things removed (an allen wrench may be required), a Meyra would
fit in a cubic space measuring not more than: 29"Wx45"Lx22"H. The operation
takes less than 5 minutes.
- The frame is chrome plated.
- The upholstery is blue.

Although limited, the stock at this point
is large enough for big or small orders.
Prices shown are for one. Two or
three sent to the same address carry a 15% discount
on the second and third units. 4-10
units: discount for 3 units, plus 25% on the fourth to tenth units.
11-20 units: discount for 10 units, plus 35% on the 11th to 20th units.
For more than 20 units, additional
discounts are applied, which we will quote on request by writing us at
e-mail.
Of course, orders are expected to
be mixed
(any combination from the models shown
above or similar).

The cost for shipping one unit anywhere in
the United States, Canada, or Mexico
is less than $200. It is less than $400
anywhere within the American Continent,
and $800 would cost to ship one power wheelchair
to Bombay, India.
For some, It could be worthwhile, and would
not cost much more, to travel to Skil, in Gent, Belgium, or to Extensions
for Independence, in San Diego, California, to select the type and size
of wheelchair you want, test-use it, and fly back home with it... considering
that airlines carry for free wheelchairs or any other special equipment
used by their disabled passengers.
The shipping cost per unit for quantity shipping
to one single address drops dramatically as the number of units increases.
The shipping cost per unit (with everything included) was $141 to bring
64 power wheelchairs from Belgium to San Diego, California (USA).
The chairs filled a 40' container. Any quantity less than this, quickly
raises
the cost per unit.
Shipment is paid directly by you upon delivery.
The rest of the payment (price of the goods
minus any applicable discounts)
is made in advance or with a bank's letter
of credit, to Extensions for Independence.

and Ligtvoet LMD chairs from our stock, which we have copied digitally
into a CD disk we give to our customers at their request.
