Self-contained Universal Telephone
Adapter
It consists of a 10" x 13" platform with an
Operating Mechanism and a Gooseneck Receiver Holder, all put together
as a self-contained unit to hold and operate a regular (desk type)
telephone.
The (spring loaded) Operating Mechanism is
designed to hold the on-off "hook" down in lieu of the receiver, which
is (permanently) held on a Gooseneck in position at the user's ear level.
To operate the telephone, the user merely lifts the lever and the lever
stays up until it is voluntarily pushed back down.
The adapter is designed to handle a variety
of telephone styles, although it works best with the Desk Top style.
MODULAR Universal Telephone Adapter
Using the same Operating Mechanism and Receiver
Holder of our Self-Contained model, the MODULAR design consists of
two main parts: Part A, and Part B.
Part A is a 10" x 6-1/2" metal or wooden platform
with the OPERATING MECHANISM attached. (The Operating Mechanism is
a spring-loaded lever device which enables the disabled user to engage
or disengage the telephone).
Part B is the "gooseneck" receiver holder
offered with a selection of attaching bases:
MP-10 (short) and MP-20 (long,
multi-mount) are bracket pedestals that clamp at the edge of a desk
or a table; MP-M2 is a plate pedestal that adhesively attaches to a flat
surface, such as a table.
